Gale Strenger Wayne is a fifth-generation resident of Shields Township who has lived in the area all her life. She has held leadership roles throughout her successful career in the investment field and civic service.

Gale was president of a financial public relations firm with a nationwide client base. In that capacity she was responsible for overseeing the operations, finances, and development of new business.

Gale currently serves on the Lake Forest Hospital Women's Auxiliary Board. In addition, she is a former moderator of the Board of Deacons at First Presbyterian Church and is active in many church-sponsored activities. She also served on the Shields Township Public Safety Committee.

Gale earned a Bachelor of Arts, Nursing, degree from Illinois Wesleyan University. She grew up in Lake Forest and now lives with her husband in unincorporated Shields Township.

The Supervisor, as the executive officer of the Township, manages its day-to-day operations and is independently responsible for administering the General Assistance Program. The Supervisor oversees all the programs of the Township and conducts the monthly meetings of the Board of Trustees. The Supervisor is a voting member of the Board.

The Supervisor's office staff is trained to assist with all of the programs the office administers.
